You built a Hot Wheels car...out of a DeLorean?!?May 26, 2011

Well I gotta say, Mattel has done it. Now, Hot Wheels has released DeLoreans before. They have also released Back to the Future DeLoreans such as this one, but the only ones I have seen were Japanese imports, or to get out of Hot Wheels range, the Johnny Lightning one. But this one surpasses the Johnny Lightning one by just a bit, and the other Hot Wheels versions by a long shot.
Now sculpting in this vehicle is amazing. If you compare this one to the unmodified DeLorean also available in the 2011 line of cars, this one is 100% different. Little details like the hood of the car, the windshield color, and obviously all the wiring and mechanics in the rear have been newly sculpted for this one. There's even a vaguely sculpted Flux-Capacitor in the back!
Paint is average, with gray bits here and there, A LOT of silver (clearly) and the taillights as well. I was even surprised that the "OUTATIME" license plate, though subtle, was applied (though sloppily on mine).
Overall, If you're a big fan of Back to the Future, or cool 80's cars, this is for you! I'm sure Hot Wheels collectors will probably eat this one up, getting different versions of their precious die-cast cars, but to us 80's film fanatics this is a collectible worth displaying anywhere, and when people see it, you'll be instantly popular. Well, at least that's my vision :) So, in recap, this car is one sweet ride, just be careful with those damn Libyans!!!

Childhood dream fulfilled!Aug 15, 2012
By AW Ok, so I'm 22. When I was a kid, I LOVED BTTF, and would bend the wheels on my hotwheels cars under to make them flying cars. I always wanted a Delorean, but didn't know they made them. I recently had a wave of nostalgia and went looking, and to my childish delight I found them! I was so happy with it I ended up ordering a larger model for "grown ups". Great toy for fans of a great and timeless movie.
Warning! Does not actually time travel!Jun 06, 2013
By Sam Pawley If you are a fan of the Back To The Future movies, this is a MUST have. It has great detail and looks great sitting on my desk.

By A. Sylvester Got this for my Back to the Future loving 8 year old son. He flipped out when he saw it. Plays with it all the time. Hotwheels quality. You can't break those little cars. Very happy.
