1JunkFeb 14, 2014
By Virginia Reisher "loving mom"
Has 3 cardboard sides, the elevator is flimsy and hard to use. When you get it to go upstairs, it hits a switch that changes the 2nd floor backdrop which crashes down loudly. The doors open inward so you can't use them w/o taking the dolls and furniture out. It is very slender, a doll cannot sit down in either side piece w/o hanging out.
I actually play with my kids and their barbie and this house never gets used except each side piece sits beside a wooden dollhouse they have and each piece is used as a "closet". Yes it's that small. Save your money and buy another brand.
Btw, I chose this house because it reminded me of a replica of the dream house I had as a girl (80's barbie dream house) horrible remake, it's not even in the same category.

1Terrible Quality - not worth the moneyNov 06, 2011
By E. Arnold "EA"
We purchased this house and the back walls are not plastic, they are paperboard. The 3 towers do not fit together so you have to remove the doll from one tower to get her into the next tower. There are no lights, no sounds ...nothing. Certainly expected more for over $120!!

5Great Malibu ShowstopperMay 03, 2014
By Meadow lark
Bought at Toys R Us online and picked up at store a couple days later. Nice didn't have to pay at counter just had to let them look it up on their system and show my id. A hard copy of the confirmation email wasn't needed but I brought my kindle just in case to show the e receipt. Not needed. So I loved just having a store employee take it up front, guess they knew the demand for this time of year b/c they pulled from the shelf when I got there. Sort of disconcerted from not having it held but anyways enjoyed seeing it finally didn't care. I'm a doll collector and haven't had Barbie since I was 12 about 23 years of company changes. Wow great thought into eco friendly touches for the kitchen, reusable grocery bag sticker for the wall and a recycling bin that opens. If planning on putting it together for max enjoyment on the construction side of it, leave time to appreciate all those stickers. Really adds color and some life from the Barbie animation. Detail detail detail just like fashion and why Barbie rocks the miniature world so well. Took me an hour for the assembly and maybe another hour the next day for the accents. Love the pull apart sides each room can turn into a stage for doll display. A frame house catches 70s spirit for me and CA. The one thing had to search online and found the answer here from another reviewer is how to change the bedroom backdrop. There's a button that is hit by the elevator on the second floor. With one hand you have to hold the backdrop and with the other slide back the mechanism behind the button. . .underneath the 2nd floor. Keeps it from falling if in the up position. Sheesh. Overall love the paperboard walls, reminds me of dollhouse enthusiasts who easily change out wallpaper by putting it on paperboard in the shape of the walls. Smart! Love you Barbie, thanks for bringing back childhood memories and putting out fresh quality products. Heavenly~

4My little girl loves it but...May 20, 2014
By me
My little girl loves this dollhouse which is all that matters. I would just like to say that for this much money, the dollhouse should be much more detailed. Why can't we make quality stuff these days. It wouldn't hurt to stop making plastic crap so kids can really hold on to their things and pass it one to their kids on day.

4My daughter loves her Barbie Dream HouseNov 27, 2012
By StarTraci
This was my daughter's fifth birthday present and remains her favorite play thing many months later. She loves it! It required assembly but was not too difficult.
